This isn't enough to lose an egg however. I could have easily put the drivers/programs on any other of my 11 sATA drives had the installer given me the choice. You can easily print a photo from any program as well, so the additional programs are useless to me, just taking up room on my C disc (which is a Samsung 250 GB SSD, so space on this disc is somewhat limited).
For me, however, I only need it for nursing school documents. I suppose that may be a bonus for users who want to do a lot of photography.

Regarding the driver installation, I would recommend going to the Canon website and downloading the specific driver file (which you have to do if you're using a Mac as the driver disc supplied does not support the Mac). As I mentioned above, my wife has both a Mac laptop as well as an iPad. I suppose it makes it easier to get the file which was scanned to the user's machine. However, one would have to go to the printer to place the document you want to scan on the printer bed. Overall Review: As I mentioned above, this printer has a feature that allows the user to scan a document from any computer on your network.

The printer drivers were simple to install (more on that below as well).Ĭons: So far I haven't found any cons, but keep in mind I've only had it hooked up & operational for a few days. You can also scan a document over the network if you want to, though this seems like a useless feature to me (more on that below). The printer itself is ~ 6" tall, including the scanning bed, which makes it very low profile, especially when compared to the laser printers (have a block & white HP Laser-Jet as well). The scanning bed sits above the printer, giving it a nice flat top. It's a nice size for a printer as far as most combo printers go. The difference between the two types if ink/toner is around $15.00 for all five cartridges & in the $200.00 range for the laser-Jet toner cartridges. Now she can use the Canon which requires much less expensive ink. My wife has a Mac and has been using the color Laser-Jet for all her printing needs which eats up a lot of expensive toner. I have an HP Color Laser-Jet printer which is also networked. The fact that it's wireless also makes this printer excellent. The price was incredible, something like $56.00, $100.00 instant discount.
